Being an artist of many mediums, I wanted to take advantage of my relationships with fellow artist friends to see how I can grow and change as well as possibly influence them. Over the next six months, I will work with 16 different artists to create 16 different collaborative pieces that will be revealed and displayed on May 4th 2011 at Motiv in Santa Cruz CA. The friends I have chosen are from an array of backgrounds, ages, lifestyles and mediums of art. This is the chronicling of my journey.

Dave Shackleton
I have known Dave for around 7 years now. We met during his sophomore year in college at UCSC. In our group of friends he was known as the Bay Area boy with the fashionable sense and an artistic eye.
As school slowly ended and the future began getting clearer Dave picked up a camera. Now seven years later he shoots anything from landscapes to portraits. Using his camera as a narrator to his life and the world around him.
To my upmost excitement Dave said "yes" to my offer to be included in the show and immediately started throwing out ideas. Over the Thanksgiving break we got time to discuss what we would make. My mind instantly jumped to a scene in Roger Rabbit. With my beautiful and curvy sj girls and his clean and crisp city and landscapes he could create a world for my sj girls in realistic photo form and I could then deliver her into those worlds with acrylic paints. The perfect mix match of mediums coming together to make a cohesive work. Make sure you mark your calendar for May 4th!!
