Being an artist of many mediums, I wanted to take advantage of my relationships with fellow artist friends to see how I can grow and change as well as possibly influence them. Over the next six months, I will work with 16 different artists to create 16 different collaborative pieces that will be revealed and displayed on May 4th 2011 at Motiv in Santa Cruz CA. The friends I have chosen are from an array of backgrounds, ages, lifestyles and mediums of art. This is the chronicling of my journey.

Dina Scoppettone
Miss Scoppettone is one of my favorite inspirations in the art world. Never have I met someone whose beauty, intelligence and determination to succeed align perfectly to create such a remarkable being. Not only is she an amazing photographer, but she also teaches art history and has personally enlightened my whole mind in the sense of learning about art. Her style of photography ranges from editorial fashion to soul catching portraits.
When Dina allowed me to include her in my project, I knew immediately that I wanted to do an acrylic painting of one of her self portraits. She does such a beautiful job at manipulating her body with the right amount of light as well as creating a composition that reads sensual and interesting. I can only hope that my rendition of the secret picture I have chosen to paint from turns out as radiant as the photo. Above is one of her self portraits but you will have to attend the grand opening at Motiv to see the piece I have chosen to work from and what comes from it! :)
